Mural Images
The use of draft horses by farmers and settlers proliferated in the last half of the 19th. They enabled farmers to clear and drag the huge stones that were a product of our geological history as well as to plow their fields. Whereas few area farmers still use the horses, young farmers are bringing them back in part to reduce fossil fuels and in part because they are such beautiful animals; many are brought to our county and down fairs to show their skills.
