Franklin National Bank, Greenfield

The Franklin Bank came into being in the early 1800’s as a clearing house for railroad related business and was renamed 1st National in 1831 — later taking on many iterations and company names. The facade was taken down in the early ’70’s though the high part of the present TDBank is a vestige.  Many of the images of buildings on the mural that served the community and that now rest only in our collective memories are portrayed as postcards in shades of grey, representing our pining at their passing.
