Though originally built as a trolley bridge crossing the North River between Shelburne Falls & Buckland, in 1929 the Shelburne Falls Women's Club converted it into a flowered bridge when the trolley stopped running. Now volunteers, associated as The Bridge of Flowers Committee & friends, have lovingly tended it. Various plants bloom in secession throughout the growing season and it has become a beautiful focal point for the town and county.
